Nanny Job in Toronto, Ontario

Looking for a Part-time Housekeeper & Nanny About our family: We are a family of 5, with 2 adults and 3 kids between 4 and 9, with no pets. We are located in Toronto near Dufferin & Eglinton (M6E). Our home is accessible by transit. Both my husband and I primarily work from home, with occasional external commitments during the week. Timing: Start date: March 21st, 2022 Days: Tues, Wed, Thurs Hours: 2 PM – 7 PM Months: Over the school year (September – June) Role Description: We are looking for a dependable, committed individual who can support our family with housekeeping, cooking and childcare. The ideal candidate can perform the tasks outlined below with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: Household work includes: - cleaning bathrooms - vacuuming and mopping floors - wiping surfaces - mopping floors - washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen, - cleaning and tidying the home (including kid’s bedrooms and basement), - laundry, folding and putting away clothing and - occasional ironing. A rotation will be established for the frequency of each task, to balance out each week. Preparing healthy, nutritious meals for a family of 5 each evening. Meal planning can be discussed in advance. Dinner is generally served around 6 PM followed by kitchen clean up / dishes. Receiving kids off the school bus when they arrive and assistance with removing outer wear and unpacking backpacks as well as supervision until about 5pm. The individual would need to be comfortable acting as the primary caregiver during various parts of the evening when not engaged with other tasks, including assistance with getting ready for bedtime. Competencies: Proficiency with managing housekeeping including laundry and home cleaning/tidying (approx. 2-3 hours/day) Proven ability to plan and cook basic meals based on the family’s preferences and dietary requirements (approx. 1 hour/day) Demonstrated experience caring for and engaging multiple children, helping them transition through after-school activities and get settled for the evenings (approx. 1 hour/day) Compensation: Hourly rate: $18-25/hour based on experience 15 hours/week ($375/week) Payment: Weekly on Thursday evenings via e-transfer Application Process: We will be looking to have a virtual meeting followed by an in-person interview We will be looking for 2 references of previous employers (or other comparable work such as volunteer work) prior to hiring the successful candidate
