Nanny-Administrative Assistant Position Aspirations Inc. is a family owned and operated psychological practice in Edmonton offering on-site child care services to our clients. We are currently accepting resumes for a unique nanny/admin assistant position in our busy mid-sized practice to start IMMEDIATLEY. The successful candidate would primarily be responsible for the care of the owner's 4 year old daughter, other children on a drop-in basis, as well as supporting the owners with varied tasks (family and personal). We are looking for someone to develop a long standing relationship & grow with our family and young business. The primary duties of the position will include but are not limited to the following: - Oversee children's activities and general safety - Prepare and serve meals, adhere to rest periods and perform daily cleaning tasks - Pick up & Drop off children at outside programs/school - Run errands - Laundry - Adhere to toileting & hygiene practices - Respond to emotional and social development needs - Implement disciplinary practices as instructed by employer - Organize, Plan and participate in learning activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings for amusement and exercise according to child's development needs - Register and sign-in drop-in users of the babysitting service - Perform varied administrative (e.g., answering phones, client intakes, maintaining & handling files, mailing letters, etc.) and other tasks (e.g., building care, gardening, vehicle cleaning, home & pet care etc.) to support the owner in business and home life. The successful candidate will have both child care and administrative experience. Qualities of the candidate that are important to this position include being open & honest, taking directions at a fast pace yet being able to successfully execute tasks independently, eagerness to learn, dedicated to commitments made to the employer, mature & responsible, organized & able to multi-task priorities under time constraints, engaging, warm & friendly. S/he will hold a current first aid certificate, valid driver’s license, police & child-welfare check. The candidate will need to have own transportation and willing to drive between Edmonton and Sherwood Park as required. This part-time position starts at 24hrs/week but has potential to move to a full time position, adding hours to the administrative component of the position as training and understanding of company operations are acquired. Hours required are afternoon - evening hours (which may vary depending upon company activities); however, hours are planned to change to daytime hours in 2013. Currently the primary shifts are 8.5hrs/day with 1/2 hr unpaid lunch included. The shift days and hours are listed below: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday – 11:00pm – 7:30pm This is a salaried position starting at $1000/month.
