I am nineteen years old and apart of the Child and Youth Care program at the University of the Fraser Valley. I love cooking, reading and biking, I am also very creative and enjoy thinking of new ways to have fun. I am a patient and compassionate person and believe every child should feel appreciated and cared to. I am someone who believes in a safe and caring environment, which allows children to feel comfortable in being themselves. I think of taking care of your little ones more than just a job, I strive to make my time with you and your family as enjoyable and accommodating as possible. In the summer of 2015 I worked as a counselor at Camp Stillwood for eight weeks. I was responsible for the 10 girls in my cabin, a junior co-counselor and other campers, aged 6-16, who I supervised during the day in different activities. This experience has given me more knowledge and understanding of behaviours and how to respond in order to remain a comforting and close relationship with each child. I have also volunteered at different summer camps in 2012 and 2013. I worked with children from the ages four to sixteen. I was responsible for helping the counselors put together activities and entertain the campers throughout the day. These experiences allowed my ability of listening and following or taking instructions to grow. I have also babysat for family and family friends, their children were aged from 1-3 years old. I also have autism training (ABA) and have worked with children with autism, down syndrome and learning disabilities.
