My name is Veronica. Originally from Mexico, I am a visual artist who came to Quebec to do a Ph.D. in Art Education. I come from a big family in which the older siblings and cousins take care of the younger ones. As a result, I am very comfortable conducting daily family activities with children such as meals, baths, prepping for pick nicks, outings, and/or any other leisure activity taking place outside the house. As a result, I am very comfortable conducting daily family activities with children such as meals, baths, preping for pick nicks, outings, and/or any other leasure activity taking place outside the house. As a professional, I have experience working as an art teacher in biligual (English/Spanish) and international schools in Mexico. I am most experienced working with children between 7 and 13 years of age. We have done drawing, painting, and sculpture projects. Another aspect of my job involved working with small groups of gifted and talented children in early primary years. This was an experience that I really valued because, I was able to develop beautiful bonds of friendship with my students. They taught me as much about art and life as I was hoping to teach them! I have also done private drawing classes for extended periods of time. I am very proud to say that one of my students became an artist himself. During my doctoral studies, I specialized in craft-oriented activities through which individuals may learn about their own culture and family history. Another project that I undertook in parallel to my studies was to do a yoga teacher training. I hold a 200 hours training certificate that allows me to teach hatha yoga at a beginner level. I am looking forward to a job in which I may plan activities that combine my skills as an art teacher and yoga instructor. I can also help with school assignments and/or teach Spanish!
