My name is Meryl, I am 27 years old and moved to Winnipeg from Boston in September of 2012 to play the bassoon with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. I have since decided that I would like to work with and help people more directly, and am going back to school to become an occupational therapist. I am a very hard-working, responsible, caring, and patient person. I love meeting new people and working with people of all ages. I am very creative and love doing arts and crafts projects. My availability reflects my course schedule, but I do have some flexibility to change courses to meet the needs of the family. Duties include changing diapers, cooking and meal preparation, and transportation to and from school and after school activities. I have also worked as a camp counselor for children between the years of 3-10. I have also worked at an after school music program for middle school children, and taught them how to play a variety of instruments. I am also a mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and make weekly visits to children in schools.
