My history of being has been marked by being the oldest of 5 children, babysitting coaching youth athletics throughout my adolescence and into my adulthood, attending a post secondary institution with an emphasis on creative inquiry and output and working with youth who have autism and aspergers. To this day, the intrigue, investigative prowess, wonder, excitement and creativity I have witnessed in young children is unrivaled. I am continuously humbled and amazed by their view and exploration of the world and I would find the opportunity to work and care with youth as a nanny incredibly enriching. For my most recent job, I was working as a social and recreational companion for youth with autism and aspergers ranging in ages from 4 to 17. The organization provided enriching and engaging creative, athletic, social and learning activities for members. Duties included the following: Providing dedicated, energetic, positive and compassionate care for youth with autism and aspergers, maintaining a safe environment for members to employ social skills and tactfully encourage social thinking, implementing non-violent conflict resolution, organizing and carrying out activities in the community and clubhouse, daily journal writing, filling out incident reports, cultivating creative thinking, remaining calm and composed in stressful situations, fostering positive connections with members based on trust and unconditional support. I also have extensive experience as an athletic coach for youth during my time in high school as well as the University of Calgary for basketball and field hockey. I also routinely babysit for friends with newborns and infants.
