My collection of life experiences has granted me the sensitivity required to work in a field where nurturing, compassion and guidance are so very crucial. I have strong morals and an open-mind; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; an unbreakable zest for life; and a big heart. In my free time I enjoy yoga, hiking, cooking and playing guitar. In a few years time I would like to go to college for something in the healthcare field and do some travelling too. In 2014 I worked for Milieu Family Services supporting school age children age 8-18 with mental and behavioural disabilities. Duties included personal care, positive behavioural support strategies, critical thinking, medication administration, transporting individuals to community outings, part-take in recreation, cleaning of the residence and keeping record of daily activities. Prior to my paid work I have ample experience house sitting for my aunt and caring for her teenage children and the home as well as the various baby-sitting jobs I had while in high school caring for children ages 1-12. My duties for all of these positions combined included helping with homework and meal preparation, providing guidance in regards to bed time and wake up times, providing support with emotional well-being and part-taking in recreational activities; for the younger ones I assisted in bathing, dressing, feeding and diaper changing.
