I'm an
Individual
My career goals have always included working with people that have exceptionalities. Since I was three I have been alongside people of all ages with very diverse abilities and I have a passion that strives in this field. Watching individuals find balance throughout different environments, situations and relationships constantly fascinates me as I too continue to do so. With this aspiration, I hope to be finishing my masters of arts in applied disability studies in six years time. As well, I would like to see myself being actively involved in the student government each year and remain on the honour roll throughout my school career. Three strengths that I encompass are life experiences, passion to enhance the world, and I am able to adapt to different situations that I am put into. Anyone can be educated to do something, but there’s something greater than that and it cannot be simply learned. It’s a fire that burns deep inside of you that pushes you to do things that you could have never imagined possible. I want to enrich the lives of as many people as I can around the world. I will never look at this as work because it is something that gives me fulfillment and I crave new opportunities to become even better at what I do. As an educator, I am eager to become more diverse in my understanding of the many types of exceptionalities and how they affect people in different parts of the world. I want to know about exceptionalities that have been over looked. By broadening my knowledge I can create larger support groups and educate the world into a place of inclusion and discover lost possibilities. There is so much to know, why would anyone ever want to stop learning and bettering the world? Working with all people that have exceptionalities would help me to build on these skills and become a better educator throughout my career. I want to be challenged in a new setting that I am unfamiliar with. ***I am currently attending Trent University in Oshawa for Honours Psychology. Therefore my schedule changes each semester, but I have some flexibility when choosing courses.*** I have worked with children that have special needs, high needs and behavioural needs for many years now. I am going through school to get my Masters in applied disability studies and have been working with various companys to provide assistance for families and their children. I have worked both one on one and in group settings, but I have also worked with children that are undiagnosed and children that require no extra help with their needs and abilities.
