Looking for a fun, athletic, crafty, and responsible nanny or babbysitter? I am a recent graduate from the University of Victoria in Applied Linguistics. With my current degree I am a substitute and on-call teacher at a private ESL school in Victoria. This, combined with my 6 years of coaching rock climbing to young kids has inspired me to become an active leader in our community for youth of all ages. Starting in September 2013, I will be taking part in a professional post-degree program in Elementary Education at UVic. After the 16 month program, I will graduate with a second degree: a B..... in Elementary Education. Working with kids is an absolute passion of mine. I look forward to meeting you and your kids one day soon! For the last 6 years I have been working with youth through the Boulders Climbing Gym as a Rock Climbing Instructor and coach for young kids. I've been coaching teams of my own since 2008, and it was through my interaction with the little ones (ages 4-12) that I discovered my career path: Inspiring children through sports, as well as in the classroom, to be the best that they can be. Alongside coaching, I've been babysitting for neighbours and family friends for over ten years, and I've been tutoring international elementary students in English for a couple years. In the classroom I have worked primarily with older youth at a private ESL (English as a Second Language) school in Victoria. Jobs have ranged from regular classroom instruction, including creating lesson plans, giving tests, and marking, to after school activities like kayaking, tie-dye t-shirts, going to the museum, Vancouver day-trips, and overnight camping trips.
