Let me introduce myself, I am Denise, a caring, compassionate and responsible individual who thrives where I can be helping and supporting others in life in various capacities. I enjoy teaching, leading and supporting others. I believe in encouraging curiosity in a positive and healthy manner. Four years ago I went back to school as an adult student and acquired a Diploma (with Honours) in the Community Support Worker/Social Services program. Within the program, I also acquired an Assistant License for ECE. I have spent four years employed as a Clinical Caseworker in a residential treatment centre where the safety and positive growth of the residents were the priority. There are many, many transferable skills I would bring as a support person in related positions. I am currently seeking to transition my skills and abilities to a job in a positive, nurturing atmosphere. I enjoy the curious nature of children and feel it\'s important to encourage it through exploration (walks outside in the fresh air, reading books, being creative without expectation, baking etc,). I participated as a support person for a day in a daycare centre caring for 9 children ages 3-5. It was my responsibility to be with the youth at all times and always know where they were. They were supported, encouraged and empowered in maintaining self respect and respect towards others, their environment and more. I facilitated groups with them, taught and worked with them in the kitchen, and overall was there to support them in a compassionate, caring and professional manner.
