I am the eldest of five children, and honestly don't remember a time when I wasn't helping to care for my brothers and my sister. I started babysitting at twelve and when I took the 2010 school year off, I worked both as a nanny and as an occasional babysitter for several families in my hometown of Calgary. I continued to work part-time as a nanny and babysitter while studying opera at UOttawa and decided to "follow my joy" and make my career in childcare instead of on the stage. I have now been a full-time nanny in Ottawa for 10 years and can confidently say that it was the right choice. I love being a nanny and wouldn't trade it for the world. I have experience with children across the autism spectrum and with anaphylactic allergies. I also have experience working with children who are non-verbal or have language delays, as well as with children learning English as a second or third language.
