My name is Nikita De Freitas, and I am very interested in becoming your full-time child caregiver/ nanny. I understand that finding a professional to care for your child(ren) may be a daunting task as it is an important decision to make as it regards your child’s wellbeing and overall physical, mental and emotional development. A little about me, I am a responsible, kind, warm, dependable and creative person who puts her all in everything she does. I believe that a child flourishes when treated with kindness, compassion, understanding and patience. Growing up as the eldest of two younger siblings I am no stranger to the dirty diaper or a temper tantrum or two. I would say my love for children started from caring for siblings and carried on throughout my life. My experience branches out to caring for toddlers entering into kindergarten; from reading time, to snack time and arts and crafts. Not to mention the copious hours I have spent in my youth as a babysitter for neighbours and friends. My love for children has brought me across the country as well as out of the country. Having spent a year abroad lending my services to the impoverished families and children of New Brunswick and Ghana, I aided in their programing and child care services for the single mothers of the area as well as worked with their local YWCA while in New Brunswick; and while in Ghana I aided in their malaria prevention and awareness program as well as various community programs that we helped initiate with the goal of making a brighter future for the numerous children within the village I was in. Along my love for children, I have passion for health and healthy living. I believe that what we teach our children is just as important as what we feed them. Being in North America there are many more children who are becoming obese and unhealthy and I believe in proper health education for every child. I look forward to hearing a reply. Have a great day!
