I took Psychology at Carleton in order to gain more experience with how the way the mind works. I took a special interest in the courses I took that involved Child Psychology and Family/Social Psychology. I have learnt that the attachment to the parent is very important and a healthy and active lifestyle is key (not as much tv as everything else). I also think that getting the children involved in regular household activities (cooking, cleaning, etc.) is important for their overall responsibilities. Intellectual activities are also impactful on a child's well-being/learning capabilities. Children truly brighten up my life and being a part of watching them grow up and learn new things is very important to me. I used to babysit many children when I was younger and continue to be surrounded by children of all ages (family, friends children, etc.). I also majored in Psychology at Carleton and took a couple Child/Family Psychology courses. I have prepared meals, housekeeping, cooking, feeding children, change diapers, take children to park/walks/museums/etc., assure that nap time is given, dress accordingly to the weather, take to the bus stop/school. I have cared for children from 6 months to 15 years of age. I love being surrounded by children and taking care of them, they truly brighten up my life. I would treat anyone's children as if they were my own.
