I have over eight years of experience with children. Through this experience, I have learned to plan activities that are specific to the needs of the child or children I am caring for. I enjoy keeping busy and will provide daily activities, including crafts, games, and exercise. While performing other duties, such as cooking meals, I offer to get the children involved which is lots of fun! I have experience working with children from newborn to sixteen years old. I am very capable of finding age appropriate activities to entertain children, as well as to educate them. My experiences have been gained through tutoring, babysitting, and being a CanSkate instructor. I love providing daily themes with corresponding crafts and activities, such as scavenger hunts. I also like to stay active and would encourage the children to exercise through fun activities and games. For the past two summers I have been the Assistant Summer Program Coordinator at both of the Tyendinaga and Deseronto Public Libraries. This position has given me the experience of planning as well as implementing programs for children of all ages. The programs included one-on-one tutoring, the Craft and Reading Program, and Teen Club. These programs had a focus on literacy, but I have experience tutoring in all subjects. As the Assistant Coordinator, I was responsible for the advertisement for all of the summer activities. This required researching various newspapers and contacting radio stations. My experience gained over the past two summers has given me confidence to instruct people of all ages in a variety of subjects.
