I'm an
Individual
I have childcare experience from working at a daycare with children that range from the ages of 2 1/2 - 12 years old. I alternate between working in the preschool room, JK/SK room, and school aged room where I have worked with a 13 year old Autistic boy for 10 months. My work environment consists of working alongside with Early Childhood Educators and communicating with parents. In addition to working at the daycare, I provide childcare service for 5-12 kids during the after-hours while parents are in a CSAC or board meeting.
My duties:
- Observe and monitor children while they play
- Communicate with parents about daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered
- Take children to the washroom
- Read to children and do arts and crafts with children
- Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games and circle time
- Assist in preparing food for children and serve meals to children
- Dress children and change diapers
- Help children with homework and school work
- Perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning and dish washing
- Accompany children on outings like Beach Blast, Bowmanville Zoo, community parks and public pool
- Sanitize toys and play equipment
I am very passionate about working with children. I am currently attending George Brown College as a Personal Support Worker student. I will be graduating from my PSW program in April. I would like to continue my education to become a registered nurse. My area of interest is pediatrics because I love caring and working with children!
