I have been raised around children under 5 my entire life, and learned a lot about child development through exposure to ECE course material by dictating to someone taking the program when I was in high school. I have a strong background in working with children with special needs and I have no problem doing so. I have first and CPR training that is still valid, as well as a safety conscious personality. I really enjoy working with kids, and because of university I have not had the opportunity to interact with them as of late, but I look forward to doing so again. Throughout my life I have always been at some point taking of children and learning child development. My mother was an in-house daycare provider until I was 12, the entire time working with children with special needs. Because of this, I picked up child care and working with special needs children by osmosis. Throughout high school I took care of school-aged children after school, and throughout high school I volunteered at my local church setting up classrooms for Sunday school and teaching the children the bible story. I currently volunteer at the ROM in the biodiversity department teaching kids all about how amazing nature is.
