Nanny in Winnipeg, Manitoba

I have been involved with taking care of children all my life. It's one of my favourite things to do. To me, it's not only a job, but something you have to be passionate about. Being a nanny, I think you should love and care of the children, like you would your own. That's what I've always done. Even after I've stopped working for a family, I still visit the kids because it's important to be constant in their lives. When I start a job, I always like to observe and see how each parent does everything differently and what works for them and their kids, as well as adding in my own suggestions from my experience, if needed. No family is the same so it's extremely important to learn how they bring up their kids. Not only is getting along with the kids essential, I also think getting along with their parents is important so it isn't a tense environment. I am also perfectly fine with any pets. I love animals. I have two dogs and a cat and have also owned three guinea pigs. If there is anything you'd need me to do that I've never done before, I'm always willing to learn! I babysat for a family for six years. When I started, the kids were 1 and 3. Then they had another child a few years later, so I ended up taking care of all three of them. I went to their cabin in Winnipeg Beach for a couple weeks, for two summers, as well as they took me to Hawaii for 10 days. My most recent job is with two kids, who I've been taking care of for the past year. They are one and four years old now. They were six months and three when I started. I worked full time, from 7am-5pm for a couple months, until my employers job changed and they only needed me part time. My duties included any light house keeping, washing dishes, laundry, vacuuming, sweeping and preparing or cooking meals. Last summer, I volunteered at HSC, Children's hospital. I was there once a week, from 9-12. I did anything from holding babies to playing with Children who were as old as 5. I also helped them prepare activities for the kids. Of course, I had the odd babysitting job for different families when I was younger.
