I enjoy caring for children and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe in getting down to their level and playing. play is the best way for children to learn. I believe in letting the child lead their learning, whatever they are interested in the moment are always teachable moments. I do not believe in sitting a child down in front of the TV, children need to explore, be challenged and use their imaginations. There is nothing better than seeing a child's face when they grasp a new concept or task. I believe music and movement, crafts, play, outdoor time, science and pre reading and math skills should always be part of a child's day. I am very flexible because caring for children you never know what the day is going to bring and plans don't always work out! I have worked as a preschool, JK/SK and school age daycare teacher for over 10 years I have had my own groups preschool 2-5yrs of age I would have 8 children, JK/SK groups 4-6yrs of age I would have 10 children School age 6-12 years of age and I would have 15 children I have also worked with children who have special needs. I have been lead teacher in the room and often had my own group on my own.
