Nanny in Victoria, British Columbia

I am very interested in obtaining a position as a nanny or child care worker for the summer, starting any time after July 1st. I have just completed my first year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Vancouver Island University and have experience working in child care and with youth. I extremely enjoy working with children and youth and am able to work with children from the age of a toddler and up. My experience in child care has come from working at Campus View Out of School Care which is a before and afterschool care program at Campus View Elementary school, which also runs a summer program called Alakazam. At Campus View Out of School Care I worked in before and after school care as well as for their summer program which included leading crafts, activities, providing snacks, taking children on out trips, and much more. At Campus View Out of School Care I worked with children ages 5 to 12. I also have experience working with youth as an assistant dance teacher at Sherry Black�s Broadstreet Dance. At Broadstreet Dance I worked with children and youth ranging from age 3 to 14. As a nursing student I understand the importance of a healthy childhood. My education has stressed the necessity of physical activity, a nutritious diet, a hygienic environment, and an encouraging support system. These theories are always incorporated into my care of children and youth. I have completed my First Aid, CPR, WHIMIS and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training courses that I believe are all beneficial to working with children and youth.
