I am a grandmother of two toddlers living in the Hinton, Alberta area. I have a wealth of experience not only with my own grandchildren, but in the field of working with folks (children/adult) who have varying abilities, not disabilities. Building on folks strengths and their own personal \'wish\' list makes for a positive interaction between the family and myself. I am very positive focussed and encourage kids, families and family supporters to be participants in many teachable moments not just for the family, but for myself as well. Learning continually makes me a more well rounded individual and keeps everyone moving forward in a positive manner. Thank you for considering me for your family. Penny Last school year I cared for a 4 year old preschooler and his older brother upon his return home from all day kindergarten. Both of these young boy's parents worked until approximately 6:30 pm I have 30 years experience in working with children, youth, and adults with developmental delays and mental illnesses. Focus on maintaining folks within their homes and communities is a priority and meeting people at their level, provides goals and challenges which many providers are not able to see. Working with children and their families as well as adults and their families provides a learning experience for them as well as for myself. Learning together helps to make 'lessons' memorable and provide the basis or foundation of many more lessons to build upon.
