I am a friendly and energetic person and enjoy working with children of any age. I have a degree in Social Work and have many years of experience working with children in different capacities. Including a home child care setting, after-school programs, volunteering etc. I am creative and will try to cater to your child's individual needs. I recognize that all children are unique and each parent's style is different and will do everything I can to work within your expectations. I have been babysitting since I was a 13 years old. I often babysat after-school and on evenings and weekends. I cared for children from 1 month to 12 years of age. More recently I have experience as a leader at an after-school program (ARC - After-school Recreation Care) through the city of Toronto. I planned and implemented creative and developmentally appropriate recreation activities for children ages 6 to 12 years of age. I also have experience volunteering with the June Callwood Centre for Children and Families, which provides support and assistance to young mothers. There, I volunteered as a nursery assistant and helped care for infants age 1 month to 2 years. I also have some experience as a tutor, volunteering with the STEP program (Safer Tomorrows Through Education and Play) which is an after-school drop-in program for students who want help with homework or to develop their skills in a certain subject. This program was for students in grade 5 - 12.
