I am a caring and gentle person who loves children. Very energetic. My experience with adults with intellectual disabilities has given me the opportunity to develop skills that transcend age groups and cultures. It has made me more aware of the needs of the people around me. Although care for children or \"nannying\" is not exactly the same as caring for disabled individuals, it does provide an experience that can be transferred. It has opened up my creative side to deal with situations that may arise. I have taken several courses along with First AId/CPR: Teaching Children with learning Disabilities; Therapeutic Touch; Personal Measures Outcome as well as Behaviour Management. I have found that these courses are helping in everyday life as well as specific situations. A child needs to feel secure to develop her personality and encouragement to expand her boundaries. The same is true for disabled people. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your children to see if there is a good \"fit\". It is very important for the parents to trust the caregiver and for the children to feel comfortable and secure.
