Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I am a 30 year old woman who has tons of experience teaching children. I am a fast laugh, positive and hard working. I am looking for babysitting jobs with reputable families in the downtown Toronto area. My sister is a dolphin trainer in the Caymans, before that she trained all sorts of exotic animals. Growing up with her I learned a lot about animals. Our house felt like a zoo. So pets of any kind are not a problem. The perfect family for me is one that has children who are interested in the arts and creative projects. I think play is really important and I am not a fan of unlimited TV or video games. I am happy to cook healthy and yummy food and take on the challenge of pleasing even the most picky of eaters. I am a gluten free eater myself, so if the kids are gluten free that's just as easy. I give 100% to the children I work with. But I am not a maid so if you are looking for someone to clean your home, thats not me. That said, you can expect that how you leave the house is how it will be returned to you. I will clean up after any projects we get ourselves into, any meals I make for the kids and I will be sure the children follow my lead with their toys and games. I am kind, goofy and imaginative. I am hopeful that there are some kids out there who need that in a babysitter. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile:) Most importantly I love children. I have four sisters and a large family where there were always babies and children around. I was a nanny in LA in my early twenties for the sweetest kids on the planet. I have just recently moved to Toronto and spent the last couple months helping my sister with her newborn, as you all know, those first couple months are hard ones:) I worked at Arts Alive in Santa Barbara, California producing original children's theater while also teaching classes for play writing and acting to children, ages 5-18. My classes, on average, were around 17 students. Arts Alive also provided painting, sewing, dance and pottery classes and I participated in teaching those classes when needed. My ability to create within limitations, entertain while teaching, and communicate with staff and parents were all imperative to my success at Arts Alive. My productions at Arts Alive took the Childrens Theater program to new heights. The success of my original plays drew the attention of the Santa Barbara school district and we started getting contracts for me to go out and bring my classes to the elementary and middle schools. I also worked at 4CATS in Vancouver. A job that I loved. If you are not familiar I recommend checking it out. Together my kids and I spent our time painting, sculpting and laughing our way through the day. I was a montessori kid and I really loved that 4CATS follows that style of teaching. I am now working on a children's book called Dragon's Bay .
