I have known Ms. Hunter since May of 2014 as an employee of the Fredericton Region Museum. Ms. Hunter was the full-time Manager of Education and Interpretation during the spring and summer seasons and part-time in the fall and winter. In this position, her main objectives were be to develop existing educational programs and create a new children’s day camp while promoting the museum to the community. Ms. Hunter had to liaison with schools and community groups, organize visits and guided tours, deliver educational sessions and add value to group visits in both official languages. She had to ensure that education programs were relevant to school curriculum and facilitate access to the museum collections, exhibits and educational resources. She supervised and trained volunteers, arranged programs for events and holidays, worked with co-workers to promote the museum, coordinated teams of interpreters, managed budget and attended planning meetings. She prepared reports and budget statements for the Board of Directors creating a record for future summer students to use to continue the programs that she developed. Ms. Hunter undertook the task of preparing First World War education program that met the grades seven and nine school curriculum social studies outcomes. This required several hours of research and planning during which time, she supervised volunteers and an intern. Ms. Hunter was reliable and dependable and tackled every project with interest. During the busy spring and summer, she administered several programs and projects but despite this, Ms. Hunter was willing to learn new skills and attended her tasks with enthusiasm. To accomplish our goals it is essential that the staff focus and work as a team and Ms. Hunter was very much a team player. I am very proud to have worked with Jennifer Hunter and hope to have the opportunity to do so again.
