Nanny in Richmond, British Columbia

Hi, my name is Allycia and I live in Richmond with my school aged daughter and husband. I am currently studying towards my ECE and hold an ECE-A certificate. I am looking for my next amazing family to work for. My previous position ended in September 2022 as both the child I took care of and mine began Kindergarten and care was no longer needed. I was with that family full time since June 2020 and I was very sad to leave. I have been studying since my last position ended but once the school year starts up again In September I will be ready to start working full time with a new family. I am from New Zealand originally but became a permanent resident of Canada many years ago. I have worked in childcare for the past 16 years and consider myself a career nanny. I have worked in NZ, Australia and the UK as a nanny and I truly love what I do! I consider myself a big sister type and enjoy getting down and playing, doing crafts, baking, cooking and going on adventures, as well as attending classes. I also love to help children gain independence and allow them to discover their own potential. I consider my style of parenting and nannying to be respectful and I help children to listen to their bodies and emotions and deal with them in a positive way. For example if a child is having a meltdown/feeling upset about something, I don't try to distract them from their feelings, I work with them to figure out what's going on and help them to name their feelings and deal with it together. At the same time, I will work with the parents of the child/ren I am taking care of and find what works best for all of us together. I consider us to be a team with the same goal in mind and I very much value open communication. I also have a passion for nutrition and cooking and I enjoy making a variety of food for children that is both healthy and nutritious. I I have experience with all ages up to 12 years as well as twins, large families, newborns and special needs. I come from a large family with 6 siblings and have grown up helping to care for them. I have a drivers license and a car and happy to travel to Vancouver for work, although I would prefer Richmond if possible.
