Hi there, This is my first time filling this out so I am really not sure what people would normally write, so I am just going to write what I would want for my child(ren). I have been working with kids since I was very young, I volunteered when I was 14 until I was old enough to get a paying job and ever since then I've had odd jobs on and off. I try to be firm but loving, I believe that for a child to listen to you, they need to respect you. I try to help the children learn as they play but I also ensure their safety. I love to have fun while teaching and helping children grow. I am patient and caring, and eager to let your child teach me as well. If you choose me for this position I will always put my best foot forward. I am also bilingual, but am more comfortable in English however if you wanted your child to pick up some basic french I am able to do that along with some basic sign language as well and I am always willing to learn some more if wanted :) Thank you for your time and consideration I have worked with children of all ages, from new born and up. I have run my own after-school classroom for 5-6 year old's, responsibilities included: Planning a monthly calendar, snack, sometimes usage of first aid, teaching letters, numbers, reading, writing, singing. Have also worked with younger children where I was responsible for : Potty training, manners, independence, learning to walk, talk, feed themselves, etc Work with special needs includes working with a young girl who has Angelman Syndrome for two years (2 to 4 years old) Duties included: Successfully teaching her to walk, climb up and down stairs, sit unassisted, potty train, simple sign language and other forms of communication, independence such as self feeding and self drinking, manners, how to play with other children
