Hi there, My name is Nicole and I am 23 years old. I have recently completed my studies and have been missing working with and being in the company of children and youth. I have always found so much joy in working with young people. I find them fascinating, exciting, honest and lovable. Working around young children helps me see the world in a different way. Their innocence, eagerness to learn, their curiosity and honesty are all traits that rub off on me. I aspire to be a primary and junior teacher, which unfortunately is a difficult career path to get into these days. However, after a friend of mine told me about this website and the idea of helping out families and working with children again, I knew I had to apply. I am a caring, hard working and trustworthy person. I do not see becoming a nanny or babysitter as just a job, I see it as more than that. To care for a child requires more than a set of skills that I have mastered. It requires care, patience, trust and a heart. It can\'t be easy to trust someone to watch over your children but I will be positive, encouraging and caring and most importantly trustworthy. Thank you for taking the time for reviewing my profile. Enjoy this beautiful weather (finally!). Nicole Fantauzzi I have always chosen work that allowed to work with children. I have worked in two different daycares. I took care of large groups of children and helped implement different activities for them to do. I have cared for children between 14 months and 8 years old. I also worked at a place called Kidtopia. This was an indoor playground and many children had birthday parties there. I helped host parties, kept the children entertained and performed clean up duties afterwards. Lastly, I have both taught and volunteered in primary and junior classrooms. I did my practice teaching in two grade two classes and a grade five class. I had to follow the curriculum and design lesson plans, I had to mark student work and I had to manage a classroom full of students. Currently, I volunteer twice a week at a school in Mississauga where I work with below grade level readers. In this program, the students I work with, read to me and I help them learn strategies to help them build up their literacy skills.
