Hi there, My name is Daniela. I hold a diploma in the Developmental Services Worker program from Algonquin College. My degree specializes in the care and support of individuals of all ages with physical and intellectual disabilities. As well, I am about to enter my 4th year of Disability Studies at Ryerson University. My experience with children is substantial (10 years, wide age range) and I can provide references from the families I have worked for. I have also worked for two years as a supply Educational Assistant with the Ottawa Catholic School Board. In this employment, I supported elementary aged students with exceptionalities in their schools and classrooms, with various needs including curriculum support, behavioural support, inclusion, and social skills. I have always been passionate about childcare and look forward to finding a family to share this with! I have been a caretaker for infants as young as 6 months old and have worked with families of 1-3 children (male and female). My responsibilities included light meal preparation, taking children on outings to parks, museums, pools, etc., bathing, feeding, diapering, preparing for bed and putting to bed (always with a bedtime story, of course!) I believe it is important to be a creative caregiver and engage children in meaningful activities, as well as spend lots of time outdoors when possible. My personal hobbies and interests are yoga, baking, being amongst nature, family time, DIY projects, skiing, reading, and travelling!
