Hi! My name is Monica and I\'m looking for a full-time or part-time summer job working with your children! Here\'s a bit about myself: Currently, I\'m in my second year of university at Nipissing in North Bay where I\'m enrolled in the bachelor of arts honours program with a specialty in psychology. For as long as I can remember I\'ve dreamed of obtaining my PhD and becoming a clinical psychologist, so that\'s the path I\'m currently on! But despite having school to focus on, I love to have fun. I love to play sports and I\'ve been enrolled in everything from hockey, baseball, swimming, dance, figure skating, cross country, to cheerleading. I take working with children very seriously. Fun is good to have and I make sure to always include it in my day but when working with children, I believe that their development is also very important. I\'ve learned a lot from past experiences and I can fit learning into fun! Plus, I always have a ton of DIY crafts I\'m wanting to try out that children would love! I\'m someone that you can trust your children with because their growth, safety, and overall well-being is important to me. I have had a number of experiences when it comes to working with children, however none of these were paid occupations. In 2010 I picked up some volunteer hours at my public YMCA where I worked with grade school children in a program called Youth Group. I, as well as other staff members were responsible for providing the children with proper and adequate after school care. Tasks included food preparation, organizing activities, help with homework, and general safety of the children. In 2012 I did my cooperative education placement at Big Brothers Big Sisters. I was a one-on-one mentor for grade 6 children as well as a mentor to a group of grade 6 girls where I ran and organized a \"Go Girls!\" program. Being a mentor involved teaching the children active living, balanced eating, and healthy minds. Also in 2012/201..., I was enrolled in a high school course called Link Crew. It was the first year being introduced to my school. Upper year students (grade 12 and returning) had to apply for the course and the general purpose of the program was for the older students to teach/mentor/be a friend to grade 9 students just entering high school. Paid experience is very limited as I\'ve only picked up the odd babysitting job here and there for family friends.
