Hi, my name is Maria. I have been working with children ever since I was 15 years old, when I started to volunteer at a local child care centre. I went to George Brown College in 2010 and graduated with honours in 2012. I was also one of 20 people chosen to complete my final placement in Kingston, Jamaica where I worked with infants. I currently work for a non-profit organization where I work with newcomer families. I care for children of parents who are attending English classes. I am looking for a change in my life. I believe that child care is a great place for parents to leave their children while they work, yet I believe that I would find greater satisfaction in working with a smaller number of children and be able to give them 100% quality care. I have a great passion for working with children and helping them develop to their full potential with age appropriate activities. I was hired at George Brown College after my first placement and continue to supply for GBC on occasion. I currently work with newcomer children. I have experience in planning activities for children from 6 months to 12 years of age. I am enthusiastic about learning and teaching and always enjoy my time being with children.
