Nanny in Port Hope, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hi my name is Kendra I am 21 years old and I am willing to travel across Canada to be a live in Nanny. I am currently graduating from the three year Child and Youth Worker program at Loyalist College in Ontario. I love working with children and youth, and I love organizing activities, teaching social skills, going on outings, and doing household chores. To whom it may concern, I am writing you in regards to an employment opportunity within a live-in nanny job position. I feel as though I am a very organized and responsible individual. I have had a lot of experience working with children and youth over the past four years. I have excellent problem solving skills and I enjoy organizing activities and social skills programs. I am currently in my final year in the Child and Youth Worker program at Loyalist College. Over the past three years I have learned that therapeutic relationships, structured programs, and behavioral support for children and youth are required. I understand the care for children and youth when it comes to specialized programs. I am first aid and CPR certified, I have availed CPIC and an up to date immunization record, and availed driver’s license. Over the past four years I have had a lot of work experience; I have worked with youth with physical disabilities in a Learning Life Skills Classroom as well as children in my three week block placement at Beatrice Strong Public School. I have also had the opportunity to work with children with learning disabilities in my four month block placement at Sagonaska. Over the past three years I have had the opportunity to complete a four month block placement within Christian Horizons working with three young men with developmental disabilities. I also worked one on one with youth with special needs as a support worker, taking the individual to stamp club, organizing activities, cooking and baking, and teaching the individual life skills. This summer I spent seven weeks working for the Learning Disability Association of Alberta working at an overnight summer camp with children and youth with learning disabilities and mental health as a head Counselor, running social skills programs and team building activities. Sincerely, Kendra Lockie
