Nanny in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

I'm an
Individual
Hey there! My name is Chelsea, I am 23 and am from Nova Scotia, Canada. I have grown up in the country but have spent the last four years living in and out of a couple different cities. I have just spent the last 2.5 years travelling with a Canadian non profit travelling doing motivational presentations in high schools, I have had experience babysitting for the last 10 years. I love children and actually love cleaning as well (hard to believe I know!) I am just in the transition of switching jobs and am very open to new experiences and adventures! I love music, reading, being with others and learning from them, being outside in the fresh air, and the ocean is my second home. I am in the transition of switching jobs and lifestyles. I have constantly been living on the road for the last 2.5 years and am ready for a change of pace. At the same time however I still love travelling and have a hard time staying in one place or going back to where I'm from for too long at a time. I really am looking for new experiences and opportunities to meet new people and families and have a chance to get to do some more travelling as well. One day my mom realized I could make Kraft Dinner better than my babysitter and she signed me up for the babysitters course when I was 11 or 12 and I have been babysitting ever since! I have a range of different jobs I have done with kids. I have done babysitting in the summers where I work from the time the kids wake up until bed time, I've done the casual evening looking after children as well, and I spent a summer working at a Farm with kids with special needs teaching them to horse back ride as well as planning different activities for them to do. I grew up with lots of younger cousins as well so I\'ve always been around kids. My mom is a respite worker so I have been exposed to lots of different kids and adults with different levels of disabilities. I have a cousin who has cerebral palsy as well so I am very use to being with people special needs. I love working with families and spending time with kids and I hope you take me into consideration and i\'m looking forward to getting a message back! Have a great day! I have worked with children of all ages. My experience with is as followed with each category Newborns: Changing diapers, meal time, and putting to bed and just general care. Infant/Toddler/pre-school : Spent numerous summers babysitting in this age group. Did all of the daily things, started working when children woke up in the morning, so meals, naps, activities inside and outside, as well as putting the kids to bed and spending all summer with them and building good relationships. School age: I spent a summer working at a Horse Farm teaching kids with special needs and disabilities to ride horses as well as working with kids who have sensory issues. We would spend time swimming, riding horse, playing in the woods as well as snack time and preparation to go home and get cleaned up. I also have a cousin who has cerebral palsy, so I have known his condition and worked with him since he was born, 20 years ago. My mom is a respite worker so I have been exposed to a lot of different people with lots of different needs and have a fairly easy time at adapting to their needs.

Chelsea is an adventurous and loving person who is incredibly caring and very suitable for this job. She has amazing organization and responsibility skills and has a way with children that makes them feel comfortable and safe. She is committed to everything she does and always a blessing to have around.

Chelsea has been one of my best friends for the passed couple of years, and I've had the privilege of working with her on a few different projects. We've fundraised together, did humanitarian work in Mexico together, and most recently she was in the leadership role of the motivational presentation tour that I got to be a part of as well. Though I've seen Chelsea in many different roles, she has been consistently the most dedicated person when it comes to getting a job done. She can take on any responsibility, even if she isn't equipped at first, she is resourceful and will find out how to get it done to anyone's satisfaction. Chelsea is very responsible, and when it comes to working under pressure, she doesn't let any of that stress effect her performance. I've witnessed first hand how selfless and caring Chelsea is, and it's quite admirable. As a leader, a role model and a caregiver, Chelsea would set an admirable example.
