Hello there! My Name is Patricia. I am a student, studying Honours Global Business and Digital Arts at the University of Waterloo. I am looking for Nanny/Baby Sitting work with children in order to help me gain valuable life experience with kids, as well as to help me pay for tuition. I am a very outgoing, spunky, friendly, and creative individual, and I absolutely love working with children and taking care of kids. I have over seven years of experience working with children, five of these years being paid experience. Most of my experience has been volunteer (I have over 270 volunteer hours, the majority of this being in relation to childcare), however, I have had several occasional baby sitting jobs over the past four years. I am more then capable and used to caring for a large group of children - I have supervised about six to seven kids independently beforehand. I have also dealt with a wide variety of ages, from a year and a half up to about twelve years of age (grade six). Some of my responsibilities have included: • Supervised activities of children and developed games to teach responsibility • Administered needed daily nutrition to children • Detected any unsafe situations that arose and took appropriate action I also have experience as a Music Instructor, both privately and working for the Cambridge Conservatory of Music. Those duties included: • Taught students the basic techniques of piano • Helped students develop skills to read and write music and theory • Assigned students appropriate detailed homework each week, including repertoire, technique, theory, and harmony I also am an identical twin and have cared for twins beforehand. Truly Yours, Patricia While must of my experience caring for children has been volunteer, I have over seven years of experience working with a variety of ages with children. I have over 270 volunteer hours, and the majority of these volunteer hours have to do with keeping care of children. I have been helping with keeping care of toddlers at my church during the morning service since I was about twelve years of age, and I have more independently kept care of toddlers for the past year since I became a legal adult. Typically, when I care for toddlers, I have independently kept care of up to 7 toddlers, and with another helper, anywhere from 8 to 10 toddlers. Some of my responsibilities include administering a snack, helping organize games, crafts, etc., watching children and playing with children during play time, helping calm down and manage upset children, helping children with potty related tasks, and many other similar tasks. I have also cared for children between the ages of four and ten by helping out with Junior Church during the service at my church, completing duties similar to that I have completed in helping with Toddlers, except also including instructing lessons for the children. Further, I have taught and instructed Sunday School for the past year for kids ages four to eight on Sunday mornings prior to the church service, as well as helping these kids with their bookwork and ensuring that their snacks are administered safely. I also for about two years volunteered to do childcare during Community Dinners at my church, where I watched, played, and instructed children while their parents or gaurdians were able to take a break and enjoy their meal. I have also experience in being a leader in various children programs at my church, such as being a leader in the Awana program or the VBS (Vacation Bible School) program for the past few years. The ages I have managed have ranged from SK to Grade 6. In this setting, I have supervised independently about six kids at a time, sometimes more. I have also instructed games and crafts, helped organize activities, help kids develop their knowledge about the lessons they have been learning (e.g. helping kids in Awana with bookwork), ensured safety of kids during games, helped guide kids to show them where the next task for the day was being held, and administered food and snacks to ensure safety for children (i.e. checking for severe allergies and making all children remained healthy). In terms of my paid experience, I have occasionally baby sat children several times throughout the past four years, taking care of so far up to three children at a time. The ages I have cared for have ranged from a year and a half to about seven years of age.
