Hello there, My name is Alicia, and I love children!! I truly feel as though I understand and get children, and they sense this, as they always seem to flock to me. It has always been the joke amongst my friends that I am the child magnet. I have also been told by parents that I am the only baby sitter they will trust their children with. I am 23 years old, a graduate of Canadore College with a diploma in social work. I have worked in social work for two years, and respite work for four. In between, I have worked for families, large and small, providing care to their children in their homes. I am newly married, and since I was young, it has been my biggest dream to have a family of my own. Before I have my own children, I am happy to provide love and care to other people\'s children! I am familiar with disorders and disabilities in children, as I have worked with children with Autism, Epilepsy, Down Syndrome, Tourettes, and am also very familiar with mental health. All my life growing up, my mother provided in home day care ( I have probably seen 50 children in my mother\'s care in my life time!) My mom was known as the go to babysitter in the area, and had a large waiting list of families! This exposure to children, and model of love and care from my mother, really helped shape my love and understanding of children of all ages today. In the past four years, I have been employed by families to look after their children in their homes. I am very familiar with children of all ages, and understand the care needed for them. I have taken care of every age group of children, as well as children with mental and physical disabilities. I am familiar with down syndrome, autism, epilepsy and tourettes. I also looked after a family with 5 children, age ranges of 1- 8 years old. The three oldest were triplets (8 years old) and one triplet was also mildly autistic.
