Hello my name is Laura Robinson I am applying for the NANNY position you have advertised for. I am currently available right now. I am seeking a caregiver position. I am a mature woman looking for a position that will be long term. I live in Burlington and available for live out care giving or if needed short term live in (a couple of days a week). A bit about me I am a mother of two grown adult boys whom I adore and love. While pregnant I did my best to prepare myself reading everything I could get my hands on to prepare myself. Children don’t come with manuals; it’s up to the parents to prepare themselves as best they can. Knowledge is a powerful tool in parenthood preparation. I have a friendly fun personality and love to play with children. Getting down to their level and real interactive play is important for learning, nurturing and developing cognitive and fine motor skills. I am a social service worker, and have worked in the client purposed field for the last 22 years in the welfare department called Ontario works. I have managed many types of clientele, including single parents, families, and trustee children, and students, immigrants, aged and disabled. This caseload is very hands on all the time. While working children’s safety is utmost importance. Making sure they are safe and healthy is always a mandate. I have made referrals to support groups, daycare, summer camp programs and recreation programs. Children are our future and taking care of them properly is key to a healthy happy family no matter what income bracket. I am trustworthy and reliable. I manage my time effective and efficiently. I have a vehicle and driver’s license and a clean driving record (except one three years ago) but I have been offense free basically for the last 20 years. I drive both automatic and standard in case you need me to drive your vehicle. As YOUR NANNY I will provide the same care as you would I will insure a safe nurturing loving environment I will practice safe kitchen and cleaning standards I will provide nutritional meals and snacks, and dinners if required for the family. I will play, create, read, get outdoors and play the TV is not appropriate to me. Possibly for short term depending on your instructions. I do swim (have a pool in our complex), pets are not an issue. If needed when going out for walks if doggy is good on leash I have no issues with bringing. If Fido is not so good. Fido is going to find out very quickly who is boss. I have four dogs of my own that are trained and don’t pull on the lead. For the school age child, I will follow instructions when it comes to homework and assist and overview homework duties.
