Hello, My name is Jessica Parsons and I have just recently moved to Vernon. I am originally from New Brunswick and I have been living in the Bow Valley for the past 8 years. Ever since I was a teenager, I\'ve always enjoyed looking after children therefore it was no suprise that my expertise is working with children with disabilities. While living in Canmore I worked at the elementary school full time, taught snowboarding to children on the weekends and did an in home support program after school for children with Autism. I like to stay active!!! My experience with children goes back to my first jobs when I was 13 years old and had started to babysit for local families in New Brunswick. After graduating from college I moved to Banff where I was a full time snowboard instructor for 5 seasons, which entailed teaching children of all ages how to snowboard, be safe on the hill and have fun. I was then hired on at the Banff elementary school to work in the after school program. This program was for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years old. I was then promoted to Education Assistant at the Canmore elementary school working with children with disabilities between the ages of 2.5 to 5 years old(early intervention). During which time I also worked in homes of children with disabilities as a community support worker.
