Hello! My name is Melanie and I have the experience, responsibility and warm and friendly attitude to care for your children. I have over 9 years of experience working with children between the ages of 4 months and 14 years. I have babysat both the quietest, shy children and the loudest, rambunctious ones. I am kind and friendly and have a knack with interacting with children in a fun and exciting way while keeping them safe. On top of my fun, enthusiastic nature, I have experience helping children with reading, writing and speech sounds and coming up with activities that stimulate their minds creatively. I believe it is important for children to have a great balance of play and learning and feel that many aspects of learning can be disguised in fun games and activities. I have experience in many types of tasks such as feeding, diaper changing, games, crafts, outings to the park, library or lessons, putting children to bed, tutoring and helping with reading and homework. I also have two nephews and have a lot of experience looking after them for weekends from the time they were born until their current ages of 12 and 9. Throughout university I also volunteered at a Speech Language Pathology centre, where I worked on reading and speech with small groups of children through crafts, play and activities. I have also taken courses in childhood development and language acquisition while at university. I love interacting and playing with children and would ensure a safe and fun environment while they were in my care.
