Hello, My name is Jen and I am 32 years old. I guess the first things I should tell you about myself is that I have three passions in my life. The first in hockey, the second is children and the third are animals. Unfortunately I can’t have kids of my own so Ive been working with them for over 15 years. It all started I guess like normal kids, babysitting and making some extra cash when you’re younger. The ages ranged from about 3 months old to about 9 years old. I use to take the kids to the park, the movies, for lunch, to chapter to read in the kiddie groups, the library. I even had one family who wanted to take me to Florida with them on their vacation but I couldn’t because I would have missed too much school. Then as I started to get older and had friends who started having babies, I use to take them over nights some nights so my friends could have date night. I got my First Aid and CPR jet in case. Then when I was about 20 I babysat a little girl who had some learning disabilities. Looking at her, you would think that she was a normal 1 year old baby, but once you were around her for awhile she acted more like she was a 4 month old baby. She couldn’t walk, talk, feed herself or even crawl. I babysat her until she was about 3 years old and the family moved. I did have a couple of kids that had learning disabilities and also an epi pen for very allergic bee stings. When I was about 25 I started my own business which revolved around dogs, We walked dogs, trained them, ( basic obedience and behavioural work) I do own dogs, cats and a parrot of my own. I also foster for the city of toronto animal services and happy tails. I got to drive down to quebec to rescue a group of dogs from a puppy mills. That was pretty awesome! I also work very part time at a place called positively pet. They are a pet camp for kids during march break and the summer break. The rest of the year we have birthday parties at out facility. You can have a zoo party, and regular domestic animal party and a dog trainer party. A zoo party is when a company called hands on exotics comes to out facility and bring zoo animals. For example they’ll bring kangaroos, foxs, owls, large reptiles and other exotic animals. The regular domestic animals is 8 animals that the parent picks off of our list. An example of these animals would be rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, snakes and so on. The dog trainer party is what I specialize in. I bring two of my dogs with me and I run though different training exercises. The ages of the kids range anywhere from 3 to about 12. During march break I worked everyday from 8 until 5 and I had my own group of kids to care for during the day. My group was normally 7 to 14 kids and I had no volunteer helper. During the camp I did have a couple campers in my group that were Autistic, Aspergers syndrome, ADHA and MS. I love children and I have even applied to be a big sister. I can be having the worst day and playing with a kid, hearing them laugh, it just really in the best medicine. Hello, My name is Jen and I am 32 years old.
