Hello, I am a recent graduate from Trinity Western University, with a Bachelor of arts in Education, Art and History. I am the oldest of five children and my youngest brother has Autism which has resulted in my passion for working with children with special needs. I have over 10 years of experience working as a nanny. I have had previous experience working with children who have autism and I have received a small amount of ABA (Autism Behavioral Analysis) training. I have previous experience working with children in home, camp and classroom settings. While working at Carson City Kickback Camp and 4-H Lake Creek Camp, I had the opportunity to work with children ages 7-17 including a boy with autism and in the classroom I have done practicums with students grades 2-3. Through my experience as Lead Staff at Carson City Kickback Camp, I developed valuable leadership skills which helped me grow in confidence in myself as a leader, and learned that having engaging activities and planning ahead was invaluable for my success. I have experience developing and implementing engaging and effective lesson plans, and I have a passion for creating fun, interesting, hands-on activities. Based on previous work experiences, I have a working knowledge-base of many children’s activities, games, and arts and crafts projects.
