Hello! I would like to stress to you my interest as a Childcare provider. Working with children is my passion. Creativity and flexibility are two of my strongest assets, I am understanding, open to suggestions and positive criticism. Learning is so important to me, and being able to do so without the child knowing it is always my main goal. I am a firm believer that learning should be fun! During my time spent at Fleming I have taken courses such as Child Development; I learned how children develop physically as well as mentally, Physical exceptions; I learned about a wide variety of health concerns, causes and possible treatments, Behaviour Management; various strategies of behaviour prevention and management techniques, all courses I feel would be an asset to a position such as this. During placement I learned very quickly that no matter the child, what works with one child will not necessarily work with another. Being flexible and resourceful, I am able to assess needs, recognize problems and search out new approaches when required. I adapt and learn quickly in a new setting and am very interested in personal and professional growth. I would really appreciate the opportunity to further discuss my skills and your requirements. I went to school to become an Educational Assistant because I have a passion for children. As an EA, I need to be able to modify the curriculum in a way for it to be teachable to the many different abilities of various students. It is often challenging, but equally rewarding. I started out my placement in a Kindergarten public school setting. I fell in love with the age group my very first day, as they all stood up to sing the National Anthem. From then on I learned this is a very precious age, children at this age are like sponges, they soak up everything, as they explore and figure out the world. It is my belief that Kindergarten seems to set the tone for learning within the school system for the following years. There is so much to be taught during these couple of years, and to be a part of it has always been a dream of mine. I spent some time in a couple daycares, none of which were overly appealing to me. There was much going on, behind the scenes that I was not particularity fond of. Caring for children ages nine months to six years has primarily been my focus.
