We have 3 wonderful energetic boys ages 3,5,7. Our 5 and 7 year old are in school from 800 - 330pm Monday to Friday. We need someone that has experience and or is qualified in childcare or early learning (or 1 year minimum equivalent experience). Must be willing to help with light housekeeping, plan and cook meals and become a part of our family. We are looking for someone with the following skills and traits: A passion for working with children (a must!!), organized self starter, ability to work independently, pro-active, great communication skills with children, know how to negotiate their way with children, can cook, creative and assertive, able to guide and teach basic life skills, assist in social development, teach age appropriate topics (numbers, alphabets, color, name, etc.) and provide emotional support to the children. Detailed job description: Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Evening Salary: $11.20 Hourly, for 40.00 Hours per week Anticipated Start Date (at the latest in 3 months): As soon as possible Location: Area surrounding the city of Calgary, Alberta ( 1 vacancy ) Skill Requirements: Education: Completion of high school Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years Languages: English Children's Ages: Toddler to pre-school (1 - 3 years), Kindergarten age (4 - 5 years), School age (6 - 12 years) Work Setting: Employer's home Specific Skills: Supervise and care for children, Bathe, dress and feed infants and children, Prepare infants and children for rest periods, Help children with homework, Organize, activities such as games and outings for children, Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them, Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, Read to children, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Shop for food and household supplies, Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, Take children to and from school and to appointments, Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Child welfare check Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available Work Location Information: Work in employer's/client's home, Staff accommodation available Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information Other: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live in basis.
