I've been working with children for the last 10 years and have experience in many areas including baby sign language, age appropriate crafts, health focused cooking and baking projects, and a vast array of nursery rhymes and children's songs. In addition to my practical knowledge, I’ve demonstrated a patient and gentle approach to infant and child care. I believe in the importance of teaching through modelling behaviour and constant narration, with an aim towards building empathy, and nurturing curiosity in the kids I care for.

Avery is/was our nanny for our son ranging from when he was 1.5 to 2.5 years old. He will soon be going to preschool. We are sad to see her go but she will be snapped up I'm sure. She is really good with teaching kids to behave, discover their emotions and get through them, and at providing a safe and fun atmosphere. Avery is/was our summer nanny for our baby boy from the age of 1-1.5 (as well as our 5 year old dog). We would love her to stay with us on a full-time basis, but he is heading to daycare in September! We will definitely be choosing Avery for any occasional babysitting in the future.
Aside from being extremely responsible, prompt and considerate, Avery simply has an obvious love for children. She can always understand our baby boy - his loves, his fears, his simple words, etc. She is incredibly patient, and taught him so many things we wish we did! Thanks to Avery, he is finally starting to get comfortable walking, climbing up and down stairs, and even recognizing many new words!
The relationship between the two of them is indescribable. She truly puts the little ones first!

Avery was our boy's nanny for a year, helping him mature from infant (6 months old) to a toddler (1.5 year old), at which point we've sent him to a daycare.For avery, the number one priority is the happiness and well-being of the child. She's full of energy and patience, and has many great ideas of how to make his day fun and educational: she brought a lot of her own equipment (arts and crafts, music instruments, books, etc.), she suggested awesome activities for him (found community centers with activities for him, took him to museums and galleries that had exhibitions for toddlers), and he seemed to love every second of being with her.Apart from being great with our son, she's also very dependable, and accommodating. She was always happy to help out with babysitting in the evenings, coming in weird hours, working on weekends whenever we needed a helping hand and she even traveled abroad with us while we were on a conference.

It is one thing to find someone who can watch children safely, it is another to find someone who can do this and as well be engaging and who genuinely enjoys being with children.
