Nanny in Edmonton, Alberta

Hello ? My name is Ashley and I am a certified early childhood educator with 7 years experience in the daycare setting as well as 3 years experience in the after school program setting, including being the supervisor of a 6 staff and 60 child program. I am also a mom to two wonderful boys a 7 year old and a 9 month old. I am looking for a position that is flexible in that I can get my older son on the bus in the mornings at 7:45 (I have after school care arranged) and also to be able to bring my younger son along with me. I have experience in both planned and emergent curriculum but I strongly prefer emergent because I feel children learn more when they choose and are interested in the topic. I'm not the kind of teacher to sit down and do work sheets as I have a strong belief in the power of play based learning and would much rather get our hands dirty doing some science experiments ! I encourage children to take risks in a controlled settings to gain self confidence (example: climbing , jumping etc) I am gentle but firm when it comes to discipline.
