Nanny in Vancouver, British Columbia

I am currently living in Ottawa, Ontario and am looking to relocate to Vancouver after having visited a friend there and falling in love with the city. I also plan on studying midwifery at UBC in the future. I absolutely adore children and I have a great deal of experience working with them. I began babysitting my younger brother and three other step-siblings when I was twelve years old, and I did this for about five years. During the summer, I planned daily activities for my siblings and always ensured that everyone was diverted and active. I also did most of the cleaning in the house as well as most of the cooking, so I believe I have the practical skills necessary to care for your children as well as for your home. In the twelfth grade, I did a Co-Op placement as a teaching assistant with grade six students. This allowed me to gain experience working one-on-one with children with learning disabilities, and also gave me some practical childcare experience. I was responsible for tutoring students with learning disabilities, planning lessons, marking homework, and engaging the students in the classroom. I am currently a Birth Companion with Mothercraft Ottawa. This means that I act as an emotional, physical, and practical support for vulnerable women throughout pregnancy, labour, childbirth, and for six weeks postpartum. I love what I do. My work as a birth companion has also led me to become a babysitter for one of my formal clients, so I have recent childcare experience as well.
