Looking for a smart, understanding and loving educator/caregiver to be an academics buddy and companion to a wonderful preschooler.  This part-time job position is perfect for a newly graduated ECE, OT, teacher, teachers aid or student who is passionate about life and enjoys the daily shenanigans of the preschool set! Come and help create a dynamic learning experience for an energetic, creative and playful four and half year old boy.  This physically inclined child is quick and funny and his innate sense of science leads him to endless exploration and experimentation. He is gaining independence daily and is focused on becoming more autonomous, as are many children his age. We seek somebody who is preferably bilingual with a a passion for a variety of topics and who is excited about researching new areas of knowledge. Our goal is to foster a life long love of learning and an understanding that the whole world is a classroom. To that end, we hope the right person will help us to create an enriched experience for our son where early mathematics (how many of each colour? shape? all together? etc.), pre/early literacy and scientific exploration (how does that happen? lets look it up!) are woven throughout his child led play. A clean driving record and driver’s license is necessary for excursions to places like museums, homeschool groups, the skate park, climb gym, hiking, and other activities that will broaden our son’s experience and feed his interest and passion to learn and explore. He is a very social guy and loves to be around other children. Ideally, we would like to find an out of the box, energetic, patient and caring person for 20 - 25 hours a week. We are flexible in terms of how to arrange those hours, but want to create a consistent schedule that can be modified when necessary. The initial contract runs until Sept. with the possibility of indefinite extension.  Salary will be based on experience and a candidate with less than one year’s experience will be considered if there’s a great connection with our son.
