I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator who can provide an in-home learning environment centred on the wonders of nature, right here in our city. Your child will delight in discovering the tiny details and grand designs of nature as the seasons unfold around them throughout the year. In the summer we will search for cicada exoskeletons, sort fallen leaves by tree species in the fall, look at snow flakes under a microscope in winter and revel in the rebirth of our favourite plants and insects in the spring. Through daily walks and activities in the natural spaces in your area, we will ask questions about plants, birds, animals and insects. We will investigate and research to find our answers. We will build a thoughtful and intentional collection to display on our mobile nature table. We will fill our journal with the sights, textures and cycles observed in our time outdoors. Each day I will come with a mystery bag filled with block sets for imaginative play, puppets, costumes, sensory and art materials that are oriented around nature. Your child, through intentional and joyous moment in nature, will build a relationship with the environment that will help them on their journey towards becoming engaged and empathetic global citizens.
