As a Graduate student major in Education, I learned a lot about learning theories, educational systems and teaching skills. At the same time, I am as a casual on call early childhood educator working at SFU Childcare Society for children from infant to 12 years old. I have observed and interacted with the young child to ensure opportunities to learn through play. Also, I have assisted the childcare educators with duties in the childcare program and developed interpersonal skills and job responsibility in a team environment. Moreover, I have volunteered at both New Westminster Family Place and Queen’s Park Preschool and I had relevant experiences working with young children from 0 to 5 years old. In the past, my role was to prepare both morning and afternoon snacks for children, create special lessons during each cultural holiday or event, as well as, to assist early childhood educators to establish the safe and interactive environment for children. Besides that, I have met families and make friends with both parents and children. In this way, I believe that above experiences and skills are essential and valuable components to fulling the duties and responsibilities of being an Early Childhood Educators or Nanny.
