My name is Laurence, I am an energetic young lady, looking for a part-time nanny job in the year 2020-202...! I am a philosophy student working on my Master's thesis, so my schedule is very flexible. My first language is French, but I am perfectly comfortable communicating in English. I have worked quite a bit with children, in an outdoor camp with groups of children between the age of 7 and 12. I also have been teaching violin and piano to children (between the age of 5 and 15) since 2015, and I have been helping out two different families of 4 (ages 1 to 7) this summer. I have learned, especially at the camp, the importance of both psychological and physical safety. I have understood that safety, in general, comes before fun or any kind of personal growth. The former, of course, does not exclude the latter, but is simply a necessary precondition! I did have first aid training in a remote environment, and I plan on receiving the formation once again, in order for everything to be fresh in my mind. I love and understand the importance of playing outside, I myself spend a lot of time outside. I adore children because they play a lot, taking you with them in the worlds they have created. I understand the role that fiction plays in the development of children and will be happy to encourage and accompany your child in their exploration of both the real and invented worlds, be it through play or storytelling. (Love stories! Love reading!) In my experience working at the camp, I learned to do a lot with less, that is to say, I developed my creativity a lot, we had to make games with anything. I have acquired a very important ability, that of making time habitable so to say, even when the conditions are unfavorable (in the occasion of a storm in the context of an outdoor expedition, for example). I also have experience as a tutor for children both in primary school and in high school, so I can certainly (and would love to) help with homework supervision.
