Nanny in Montreal, Quebec

Hello there!! My name is Natasha A-Burnett. I am 21 years old and I actually quite new to Montreal. I recently moved here from Toronto and I have been looking for employment. I tried different places but with no success, until I came across this website and decided to give it a try!! Despite my young age ( and even younger appearance), I do have quite a bit of experience working with, taking care of and teaching children and youth of different backgrounds, lifestyles, abilities and ages. I do enjoy teaching children and youth alike and I also want my life to be one of being there for those who need someone there. I grew up as a foster child in Toronto, and my now adoptive parents took in quite a few children besides myself and my sibling. Some were older, the others were younger. And so, as I grew older myself, I helped my mom take care of the young ones. Things like diaper changing, bathes, feeding, toilet training, dressing, supervised outings etc. I also helped them with homework and taught them chores so they could learn too. After my parents retired from the Children's Aid lifestyle, I continued helping youngsters within my own school and church. I assisted my mom with the children's choir she created, and also helped with Vacation Bible School quite a number of times. I worked at a March Break Day Camp when I was in grade 8 and I worked in the grade 3 class for CO-OP in my Grade 11 year. I started my work with teens that same year and onward to my grade 12 year as I was elected Class Pastor and Band Pastor. Just recently, from January 2016- June 2016, I worked at a Catholic School for my College Placement. I worked with six year olds who were not academically, socially and mentally up to development ( according to what they were told). It was quite fun, and very enjoyable. I enjoyed teaching the children games, and arts and crafts as well as English, Math, and even French ( helped me freshen up too !!). When it comes to discipline, I am strict but not overwhelming. I am also not one to let things slide. I have two nieces, one is 11 and the other is 8. I became an aunt when I was 11. It was not easy, as I had to learn about discipline and a little of child rearing very early. But I have absorbed everything I have learned and it comes naturally to me. For me there are some things hat very important when it comes to children: safety, nutrition, and comfort. And I cover all of these when taking care of my nieces and other people's children. Over all, I do not have a degree of some kind ( not yet at least), and I also am not a mother. the closest I have gotten so far is being an aunt. But as I look at my own journey, the good times, the bad times, the struggles and realizations along the way, I have learned and developed quite a bit of skills and knowledge for someone my age. Every child is precious, no matter the background, story, culture or race. And any child can reach their highest potential if you put your own best into them. That's why I am here today. It is because of how my parents brought me up. I am saying this to say, that every child has a chance... and I have dedicated my life to make that happen for any child I meet.
