In China I spent 1 year teaching a grade 5 class and 2 years teaching middle school math. At this school we teach New Brunswick curriculum along with the Middle Years Programs from IB. After my year teaching grade 5 I moved to the middle/high side of the school to teach math. It is here that I gained my IB experience and attended MYP Training Seminars. The IB program in Beijing offered these MYP Training Seminars. These are training seminars that I volunteered to take as in this day in age education is changing and it�s up to it�s educators to keep informed. I received Certificates in MYP Math Cert 1, MYP Unit Planner and MYP Assessment. I am also a strong believer in the IB philosophy and discovered its strategies to be instrumental in the classroom. Along with these I took an online course and received my TESOL training because I felt it was important to have anywhere in the world with there being so many international student throughout the school systems. I have attended various other seminars listed on my resume. I have also been involved in many extra-curricular activities. I have supervised and organized the Social Committee at CISB. I have volunteered for various after school sport events, weekend educational school trips, fundraisers, etc. I understand the importance of teachers being involved and supporting the school spirit and a sense of community for their students.
